Comic Con Africa 2026 tickets: what fans need to know

Comic Con Africa 2026 tickets are live on Howler, with day and four-day passes plus celebrity sessions ahead of the Nasrec festival in September.

Comic Con Africa 2026 tickets are on sale for the festival’s return to the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec from Thursday, 24 September, to Sunday, 27 September 2026.

South Africa’s biggest pop culture and gaming festival is preparing to welcome fans from across the country and beyond for four days of comics, gaming, movies and television, according to organisers Reed Exhibitions, with press and content creator applications now open too.

The Johannesburg festival has grown into the biggest gathering of its kind on the continent since its 2018 debut, and it now shares a calendar with its Cape Town sister festival, which staged its 2026 edition at the Cape Town International Convention Centre earlier this year.

What to expect at Comic Con Africa 2026

The fan favourites are all set to return, including Artist Alley, the main stage, esports, daily casual cosplay competitions and a shopping experience packed with merchandise, collectibles and rare comic books.

This year’s edition expands the experience further with free-to-play gaming competitions and more open spaces for fans to connect.

International celebrities form a major part of the draw, with fans able to engage their favourite stars through Q&A sessions, autograph signings and exclusive meet-and-greet photograph opportunities.

Doors open at 09:00 each day, and the festival wraps up at 18:00 on the Sunday.

How much Comic Con Africa 2026 tickets cost

Phase 2 pricing is currently live on Howler, the festival’s official ticketing platform. A one-day pass costs R270 for any of the four days, while a four-day pass covering Thursday to Sunday is priced at R750.

Organisers note that all tickets are non-refundable. The opening day falls on Heritage Day, giving fans a public holiday start to the festival before the weekend rush.

Discounted tickets are also available for Capitec card holders through a dedicated Super Fan Pass offer on the ticketing platform.

Guests and sessions announced so far

Celebrity session tickets have already started appearing alongside general access passes.

Photo opportunities and autograph sessions with Harry Belden are listed at R700 each across the four days, with a R200 add-on for a five-word autograph quote, while photo and autograph sessions with Alison Sealy-Smith are priced at R600.

Sealy-Smith is best known to Marvel fans as the commanding voice of Storm in X-Men: The Animated Series, a role she reprised in X-Men ’97. All celebrity sessions require a valid general access ticket, and the full guest roster is still to be announced.

The next milestone for fans is the guest lineup reveal, with headline names, programme details and additional celebrity sessions expected to be announced in the build-up to September.
