Who owns Swisher Post
Swisher Post is owned outright by I WISH U WUD Publications (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa, registration number 2019/597681/07, based in Cape Town.
The company is independently owned by its founder. No political party, government department, state-owned entity, religious organisation, foundation or outside shareholder holds any stake in Swisher Post or in I WISH U WUD Publications.
I WISH U WUD Publications also operates PowerBall Results Today, a lottery results service, and produces podcasts.
Who runs it
Andile Sicetsha, founder, publisher and editor. He sets editorial direction, edits and publishes the site, and is responsible for the journalism on it. He is a working journalist and writes under his own byline.
Partnerships, advertising and sponsorship are handled by our partnerships department, which sits outside the newsroom and has no say in editorial decisions.
Swisher Post was founded in 2019.
How we make money
Swisher Post is funded by advertising. We do not charge readers, and we do not run a paywall.
- Programmatic display advertising. Ads served automatically through Google AdSense and The Moneytizer, and through header bidding managed by Clever Ads. These ads are chosen by advertising technology, not by us, and we do not know in advance which brands will appear.
- Direct advertising. Banner placements sold directly to advertisers.
- Sponsored and branded content. Occasional paid articles. These are labelled, and are not written or approved by the editor as news.
- Podcast and content production. I WISH U WUD Publications produces podcasts and audio for commercial clients. This work funds the business and is separate from Swisher Post’s journalism.
We take no funding from political parties, government or state entities, and we do not accept payment to publish, alter or remove news coverage.
What advertisers cannot do
Advertisers and sponsors have no access to stories before publication, no say in what we cover, and no right to have coverage removed. If we report on a company that advertises with us, or on a client of our production business, we say so in the story.
