Megan Thee Stallion has announced she will leave her Broadway run of Moulin Rouge! The Musical more than two weeks ahead of schedule, pulling her final performance forward to 1 May after publicly accusing Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson of cheating on her and ending their relationship.
The rapper made her Broadway debut on 24 March 2026, playing Zidler at New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre. She was originally scheduled to run through 17 May.
The decision to exit early came in the immediate aftermath of Megan announcing the split on social media and accusing Thompson of infidelity, as reported by TMZ and E! Online.
The breakup
Megan went public with the split and the cheating allegation on social media over the weekend, drawing an immediate and widespread reaction from fans who rallied to her defence online.
As reported by CNN, fans expressed fury at Thompson while flooding Megan’s comments with messages of support. The two had been dating for less than a year.
On Saturday night, just hours after the announcement, Megan took the stage for her scheduled performance of Moulin Rouge! despite the public drama. TMZ reported that she appeared to fight back tears when the crowd erupted in cheers at the end of the show.
The moment circulated widely on social media and became one of the most-discussed entertainment moments of the weekend.
Broadway cut short
The decision to end her Broadway run on 1 May rather than 17 May confirms that the split has had a direct impact on her professional commitments.
No replacement has been announced for the remaining shows in the production’s run, and the Broadway production has not yet commented publicly on how the vacancy will be filled.
Megan’s camp has not provided a statement beyond the social media posts announcing the breakup and the adjusted Broadway schedule, as reported by E! Online.
Thompson, who signed with the Dallas Mavericks ahead of the 2024-25 season, has not responded publicly to the cheating allegations.
Megan Thee Stallion is expected to return to her music and touring commitments following the Broadway exit.
Whether she addresses the breakup in new music, as she has done with previous personal conflicts, remains to be seen, but given her track record, her next studio work will be closely watched for any direct response to the situation with Thompson.
