Two attorneys from the Legal Aid offices were attacked and robbed by knife-wielding assailants on Groom Street in the Verulam CBD this Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, the incident occurred when two attorneys, returning to the Legal Aid offices from the Verulam Magistrates Court, were confronted by two armed suspects.

The brazen robbery took place in broad daylight on Groom Street, situated in the bustling Verulam Central Business District (CBD), a concerning sign of escalating criminal boldness in the area.

The assailants, armed with knives, aggressively approached the attorneys, forcibly seizing their cellphones.

During the robbery, one of the attorneys tragically fell, resulting in a back injury. The seriousness of this injury necessitated immediate medical attention, and she was subsequently transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Upon receiving the distress call, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) rapidly dispatched officers to the scene.

Despite an extensive search conducted by the Reaction Officers, the perpetrators of this shocking crime remain at large, eluding capture.
