David Beckham was honoured with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Friday, 12 June 2026, with Tom Cruise and Victoria Beckham leading the tributes at the Los Angeles ceremony.
The former England captain received the 2,849th star on the famous boulevard, flanked by Victoria and three of their four children, Harper, Romeo and Cruz, as reported by Yahoo News.
Beckham was inducted in the sports entertainment category, a rare nod for a footballer on a walkway dominated by film and music stars.
The unveiling drew a celebrity turnout and crowds of fans hoping to glimpse one of Britain’s most recognisable exports.

Cruise, a close friend, used his speech to celebrate Beckham’s football career and global reach. Turning to the guest of honour, he said:
“You earned this, and nobody, I mean nobody, deserves it more, my friend.”
The pairing of Beckham and Cruise has become one of celebrity culture’s more unlikely friendships, the pair often spotted together at premieres and sporting events.
Cruise’s presence gave the ceremony its marquee Hollywood moment in front of the cameras.
Beckham looked visibly moved.
“I was obsessed with action heroes, so to stand here in front of my friend Tom Cruise, the greatest movie star of our time, is quite frankly mind blowing,” he said of the surreal moment.
An emotional speech for the Beckham family
The footballer turned business mogul also nodded to his decades-long marriage.
“The fact that mine and Victoria’s first movie date was Jerry Maguire is a pretty mad full circle moment,” he said, referencing the Cruise film tied to that early date.
He grew tearful as he turned to his children in the crowd.
“Kids, I’m going to get emotional now, I hope you bring my grandchildren here one day and tell them about a boy who dreamed big,” Beckham said.
Victoria kept the mood light during her own tribute, joking that she had briefly assumed the star was hers for her role in the 1997 Spice Girls film Spice World before turning to praise her husband as a devoted father.
Romeo and Cruz cheered their father on while Harper stood close to her parents, with the family posing for photographs beside the freshly unveiled star once the speeches had wrapped up.
The honour caps a remarkable second act for Beckham, who has built a fashion, media and football ownership empire since retiring from the pitch.
