Eskom published the weekend loadshedding schedule starting on Friday, 29 September 2023, which forecasts reduced stages of rotational outages.

Weekend loadshedding schedule starting Friday, 29 September 2023
On Monday, 25 September 2023, Eskom reduced recurrent loadshedding to a pattern of Stage 2 and Stage 3, split between two periods: 05:00 – 16:00, and 16:00 – 05:00 the next day.
While Eskom is expected to provide updates for this weekend’s schedule, loadshedding should be implemented in this pattern.
“Eskom will communicate further should any significant changes occur,” Eskom noted at the time.

Update on breakdowns and available capacity
On Friday, 29 September 2023, Eskom reported more than 14 266MW of generation capacity lost to breakdowns, with an additional 5 388MW offline due to several units placed out of commission for planned maintenance.
