‘Avengers Doomsday’ tickets go on sale on Monday, 20 July 2026, and Disney is flinging the doors open a full five months before the Marvel behemoth storms into cinemas on Friday, 18 December 2026.
The early rollout, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, applies to Disney’s new Infinity Vision theatres, a large-format designation the studio cooked up specially for select Doomsday screens.
Directors Anthony and Joe Russo are back behind the camera, and the hype machine is already roaring.
Avengers Doomsday tickets land five months ahead of release
Here is the deal, Marvel faithful. Booking a seat this far out is not something the studio does lightly, and it signals just how big Disney expects Doomsday to land.
The film opens on Friday, 18 December 2026, so you are planning your December cinema trip in the middle of July.
Swisher Post previously reported on the film’s December release date confirmation, so this ticket drop is the next chapter in a saga that keeps snowballing.
Disney clearly wants bums in seats booked before the festive-season rush swallows everyone’s diary whole.
What the Avengers Doomsday runtime tells us
Now for the number the internet has been chasing. Doomsday clocks in at 165 minutes, that is two hours 45 minutes of caped chaos.
That makes it the second-longest film the Avengers franchise has ever produced, sitting behind only Avengers: Endgame and its whopping three hours one minute.
So yes, pack snacks and maybe skip the extra-large fizzy drink before you settle in. A near-three-hour sit is a commitment, though Marvel fans who queued for Endgame in 2019 will not blink.
If anything, a longer runtime hints that the Russos have a stack of multiverse threads to tie together.
Infinity Vision versus IMAX, the format tussle
Rewind a moment. Disney dreamed up Infinity Vision after Warner Bros. locked down IMAX screens for Dune: Part Three for three weeks. Both films open on the same date, Friday, 18 December 2026, so Marvel needed its own premium format to fight for the big-screen crowd.
IMAX, though, is not sold on the whole thing. The company’s chief financial officer, Natasha Fernandes, took a swing at the new format on an after-market analyst call, framing it as a branding move rather than a real upgrade for moviegoers.
“From our view, we feel it’s a marketing play to try and offset the fact that they don’t have an IMAX platform or brand for Avengers: Doomsday,” Fernandes said, adding that “it doesn’t offer the consumer anything that they couldn’t get yesterday.”
Whatever side of the format war you back, the calendar is filling up fast. Infinity Vision itself launches on Friday, 25 September 2026 with a theatrical re-release of Avengers: Endgame, tipped to carry fresh footage that bridges straight into Doomsday.
Grab those seats while they last.
