Céline Dion is back with a brand new single, ‘Bonjour, Pardon, Merci’, released on Friday, 3 July 2026, and it is the clearest sign yet that the icon is easing her way back toward the spotlight.
The track, whose title translates to Hello, Sorry, Thank You, is her second original release of the year and arrives just months before her long awaited return to the stage, as reported by CBC Music.
It was penned by French singer-songwriter Ycare, marking the pair’s first ever collaboration.
Fans have been quick to press play, and for good reason. Every new Dion release now carries extra weight given how long she was away, and this one trades the fireworks for something quieter and more heartfelt, the kind of song that rewards a proper listen rather than a quick skip.
What the Céline Dion new single sounds like
Bonjour, Pardon, Merci leans into the sweeping, emotional balladry that has always been Dion’s home turf, all strength and gratitude wrapped in a gentle French melody.
It follows Dansons, the more upbeat number she dropped earlier in the spring, and shows a softer, more tender side of this new chapter.
On the chorus, Dion sings, “Bonjour, pardon, merci, il manque un vers à ce poème, un mot qui nous unit, bonjour, pardon, merci, je t’aime.”
In English that lands as, “Hello, sorry, thank you, a line is missing from this poem, a word that unites us, hello, sorry, thank you, I love you.”
The Hooponopono prayer behind the song
The idea came from an unlikely place. Ycare drew on Hooponopono, a Hawaiian prayer built around the words forgive me, thank you and I love you, traditionally recited each morning while facing the ocean to let go of emotional weight.
That quiet ritual runs right through the finished lyric.
There is a visual side too. The single arrives with an official animated lyric video created by Chinese Canadian motion artist Yoho Yue, and both Bonjour, Pardon, Merci and Dansons are set for a twelve inch vinyl release on Friday, 4 September 2026 for fans who like something physical to hold.
What happens next for Céline Dion
Her time away had been shaped by her battle with stiff person syndrome, the rare neurological condition she revealed in 2022, which makes this comeback feel like far more than a routine new release for the millions who grew up on her voice.
The single also sets the table for the biggest moment of all. Dion is due to return to live performance with a residency at the Plenitude Arena outside Paris, formerly the Paris La Défense Arena, running sixteen shows between September and October 2026 after years away from the stage.
