TikTok star Epic Gamer Grandma has died at the age of 78, her family has confirmed.
The Scottish creator, known to millions simply as “grandma”, built a huge online following in her late 70s.
According to a statement shared on her official Instagram account, her grandson Culsan said Agnes “passed away peacefully at 21:20 on Sunday 21 December 2025”, holding the hand of her daughter Pauline.
He added that “she left this world the way she lived in it: surrounded by love”.
Agnes’ account, Epic Gamer Grandma, amassed more than 2 million followers on TikTok, where she appeared in short videos filmed by her grandson.
Viewers followed her day-to-day life and hospital updates after her health began to deteriorate in 2025.
In October, Culsan told followers that his grandmother had been admitted to hospital after her chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) “worsened significantly”, asking supporters for their “prayers or thoughts”.
A month later he posted what he called an “upsetting update”, explaining it was becoming “increasingly more likely” that Agnes would not be able to return home.
The final announcement on her page, dated 21 December 2025, described Agnes as “our epic gamer grandma” and thanked online followers for giving her “a second family online” in the last years of her life.
The family said support from viewers had made a “huge impact” on both Agnes and her relatives.
Agnes’ death has prompted a wave of tributes from fans who saw her as a visible reminder that older people can still find new communities and interests online.
Her TikTok account remains live as relatives continue to moderate comments and share occasional updates about memorial plans.
