Ludacris runs his own lane and as a rapper with a distinctive flow that sets him apart from the rest, it sure is interesting to know who he ranks as the best in the game in this discipline.
In music, your flow wins the fans not lyrics: Here’s why
In the art of rap, the most important skill to have is the ability to find the perfect pockets on a beat. It is the flow that attracts the ear of a listener, not necessarily the words.
In a way, mumble rap is prominent because of the flow and beat. Playboi Carti is a cultural icon of the new school and till this day, no one can quote a single bar from his songs.
Ludacris has built a solid career in music because of his unusual flowability, being that he is from the south, it is not expected.
Ludacris lists his Top 5 best-flowing rappers
This is why it made so much sense when XXL’s Hip-Hop’s Moments of Clarity asked him to list his Top 5 rappers with the best flows.
If there is such an unusual list that exists, it would be Luda’s opinion that validates it. Sure enough, the rapper was appreciative of such a question when it was put forward.
“This is probably, might be one of the greatest questions I’ve ever been asked,” he said.
Excluding his entry, Luda proceeded to list his Top 5 best-flowing rappers in no particular order.
- Lil Wayne
- Jay-Z
- Andre 3 000
- Kendrick Lamar
- J. Cole
