‘Terminal List Dark Wolf’ has climbed back into the United States top 10 on Prime Video as of Sunday, 30 August 2026, more than a year after the Chris Pratt prequel first dropped.
The prequel sat at No. 10 on the platform’s most-watched TV list in that market, based on streaming chart tracking data, as reported by CBR. It was a curious spot for a series that premiered on Wednesday, 27 August 2025 and still has no announced second season of its own.
What put ‘Terminal List Dark Wolf’ back on the chart
None of that was an accident. Season 2 of The Terminal List was confirmed for Wednesday, 21 October 2026, with all eight episodes landing on Prime Video at once, and viewers appeared to be doing their homework on the prequel ahead of that drop.
Prime Video operates in South Africa, so local subscribers can work through the prequel and the flagship on a single subscription, without waiting for a separate release window or hunting down a different platform to find the older episodes.
How ‘Terminal List Dark Wolf’ fits the bigger story
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf was set around five years before the events of the flagship series. It followed Navy SEAL Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch, as he moved into clandestine CIA operations and ran headfirst into the darker side of war.
Pratt turned up in the prequel too, revisiting James Reece alongside Kitsch and Tom Hopper as Lieutenant Raife Hastings. The flagship itself was built on Jack Carr’s 2018 novel and created by Carr with David DiGilio, following Reece after his SEAL platoon was ambushed on a covert mission.
Reece then discovered dark forces working against him as he set out to avenge the murder of his family. Season 1 wrapped that thread in July 2022, which left a gap of more than four years before the franchise returned to its original timeline.
When the flagship series returns to Prime Video
Season 2 was drawn from True Believer, Carr’s second novel, and the official description framed it as a journey of violent redemption for Reece after he finished his list.
The hunt took him across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
The setup carried over neatly from where Season 1 left him. Reece was believed dead at the close of the first run, quietly living out a peaceful stretch in Mozambique, until the CIA needed him back to investigate a string of bombings in the United States.
Pratt led the returning cast alongside Tom Hopper, Constance Wu, Dar Salim and Luke Hemsworth, and the full eight-episode run arrives on Prime Video on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.
A second season for the prequel has not been announced, and that call now rides on how the October return performs.
