Veteran actor Patrick Shai found himself on the wrong side of the internet when he unexplainably posted a video challenging Cassper Nyovest to a boxing match, albeit going a bit too far with his taunts.

Following a successful exhibition match against foul-mouthed YouTuber Slik Talk, Nyovest has attracted a slew of challengers looking for their 15 minutes of fame inside a boxing ring with the rapper.

While most of his attention will be honed in on preparations for his first real test, a bout against NaakMusiq, the Summer Love star would have seen the video posted by Shai, who posted this challenge on social media:

In retrospect, Shai wished he could have ended the clip on a lighter note than grunting, “son of a bitch,” to Nyovest.

Hours after the backlash, the veteran actor resurfaced with an apology video, sounding off his embarrassment for using such vulgarities.

Cassper Nyovest responds to ’embarrassed’ Shai

It was a tad bit too late at this point, unfortunately. Much like Naledi Chirwa, Shai got dragged on social media for inserting himself — unprovoked — into a public relations mess.

Of course, Nyovest would not leave it to his cult followers to defend him. The rapper said this about Shai’s attempt at going viral:

I'm a precision-driven media maverick—equal parts news architect, SEO tactician, and digital hustler. With Swisher Post as my battlefield, I don’t just chase stories—I dissect them, reframe them, and headline them with flair. I operate like a newsroom and a startup founder rolled into one: strategising audience growth by day, scripting ominous true crime podcasts by night, while chasing sneaker drops, Spurs fixtures, and algorithm-proof traffic in between. I've got the instinct of a journo, the discipline of a coder, and the hustle of a streetwise entrepreneur. Whether it’s fuel price forecasts, courtroom cross-examinations, or Kendrick Lamar Easter eggs, I demand sharp facts, compelling angles, and zero fluff. Oh—and my Yorkie? He’s my shadow editor, always on standby.
