The DualSense is the PS5’s standard controller, the one with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that push back as you pull them. Both new versions carry a shimmering, colour-shifting finish that blends a Vice City sunset with neon nightlife hues, as reported by PlayStation.Blog.

Colour-shifting here means an iridescent coating that throws different tones depending on the angle and the light, the same trick behind an oil slick or a soap bubble.
Sony has also moulded custom palm tree details directly into the shell rather than printing them on, so the texture is part of the plastic.
Vice City is the setting Rockstar has built Grand Theft Auto VI around, and the two finishes read as a mood board for it. One controller is the postcard, the other is the after-dark version of the same skyline, which is why the palette runs from sunset orange through to neon.
The two pads split the day. The White Limited Edition takes Vice City at daybreak, all white sands, pastel skies and laid-back glamour, while the Black Limited Edition leans into the city’s nightlife energy. Both carry official Grand Theft Auto VI branding, including the VI Roman numerals set on the touchpad.

Each controller carries a recommended retail price of $84.99. Sony has not confirmed South African pricing or availability, so treat any local figure as a currency conversion rather than a shelf price; the rand equivalent will also swing with the exchange rate.
Availability splits by colour. The Black Limited Edition is exclusive to PlayStation Direct, Sony’s own storefront, in the United States, the United Kingdom and major European markets.
The White Limited Edition will also reach participating retailers, which makes it the easier of the two to find.
When the ‘GTA VI’ DualSense controller pre-orders open
Pre-orders open on Thursday, 10 September 2026 at 10:00 local time, which is the detail worth diarising. Limited-edition DualSense runs tied to a major release have a habit of selling out early, and the Black Edition’s storefront exclusivity narrows the number of places to queue.
