Six adults were taken to hospital. Two of them were in a serious condition when they were transported and the other four were stable. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, which is the one piece of good news to come out of a very long night in Detroit.
Load-out is one of the least visible and most physical parts of any stadium tour. Crews work through the night with forklifts, cases and rigging in tight service corridors, racing to clear a venue so the next event can move in. The people doing it are rarely named on a tour poster.

Ford Field opens a full review
The venue put out a statement after the workers were taken to hospital, making clear it would not put a cause on the record while its own process runs. It also thanked the emergency crews who reached the tunnel first, before setting out what happens now.
Ford Field said in its statement:
“Ford Field has begun a full review and is cooperating with the appropriate authorities and with the event’s production partners. Out of respect for the people involved and the integrity of that review, we will not speculate on the cause. We are grateful to the Detroit Fire Department and EMS for their rapid response.”
What comes next sits with that review and with whatever the authorities find about how the forklift lost control.
The tour rolls on, but the six people hurt in the tunnel will be the part of this Detroit stop that lingers longest for the crew who were there.
