Olivia Rodrigo ‘Unraveled Tour’ tickets snapped up by scalpers have been clawed back by Ticketmaster and released to fans at face value, with requests closing on Friday, 21 August 2026.
The ticketing giant confirmed that the recovered seats were bought in breach of its sales rules, as reported by Consequence, and that they were being funnelled straight back to fans who missed out the first time around.
How Ticketmaster clawed back Olivia Rodrigo ‘Unraveled Tour’ tickets
Touts had hoovered up chunks of inventory for The Unraveled Tour before listing seats at inflated prices on resale platforms. Ticketmaster stripped those orders out and returned the seats to sale at the prices the tour set in the first place, with no resale premium attached.
The company kept its language clipped about what exactly triggered the cull, pointing only to buyers who fell foul of the terms attached to the on-sale. In a statement, Ticketmaster described the seats it had recovered:
“are ticket purchases that broke the rules of the sales and are being released directly back to fans, at the original prices set by the tour.”
Fans who came away empty-handed during the original on-sale were pushed to the front of the queue for the recovered stock. Anyone who already held tickets was not the target of the release, which was built around the people left staring at a sold-out screen.
The rules on requesting Olivia Rodrigo tour tickets
Ticketmaster capped requests at four tickets per event and two events per country, which worked out to a maximum of four shows across the United States and Canada. One request per account was the hard limit, and stacking accounts or firing off multiple entries meant cancellation.
The request window shut on Friday, 21 August 2026 at 23:59 ET (05:59 SAST on Saturday, 22 August 2026). Ticketmaster did not disclose how many seats it had recovered, so fans submitting requests had no read on their odds.
Bots and bulk buyers dogged Ticketmaster for years, most notoriously during the 2022 Taylor Swift Eras Tour on-sale that collapsed under demand and dragged the company in front of American lawmakers.
Clawing back rule-breaking orders has since become one of its go-to responses.
Silver Star seats and the next Olivia Rodrigo tickets drop
Ticketmaster set a second route for Tuesday, 1 September 2026 at 15:00 ET (21:00 SAST), when it opens requests for Silver Star tickets priced at $25 each. The flat rate sits far below what most seats on the tour cost.
That September window is the next real shot at a seat, and by some distance the cheapest.
Ticketmaster has now shown it will void orders and reset the clock rather than leave the resale market holding the spoils, which sets the tone for the on-sales still to come.
