YouTube TV new channels arrived at no extra cost from Tuesday, 1 September 2026, with ESPN Unlimited and six additions including AMC and BBC America switching on for existing subscribers.
The additions came in two waves days apart, and neither pushed the monthly bill up, as reported by Men’s Journal. That matters for a service that has spent the past few years being teased about its climbing price tag, because the usual pattern is more channels, more money.
What the YouTube TV new channels line-up covers
From Tuesday, 1 September 2026, ESPN Unlimited became available inside the YouTube TV app for anyone on the main plan or a plan carrying the sports add-on.
No separate app, no separate login, no extra line on the invoice.
What that unlocks is the full ESPN and ESPN2 linear channels, along with ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network and its extra feed, and ACC Network and its extra feed.
Thousands more live sporting events across the year come bundled in with them.
AMC and BBC America join the YouTube TV new channels
The second wave hit days later. Subscribers already sitting on entertainment or news packages found six more channels switched on automatically, AMC and BBC America among them, with nothing to activate and nothing added to the monthly charge.
That is a real shift. The AMC Networks group had been penned into the higher-priced full line-up, so anyone on a cheaper tier was looking at those channels through the window.
Now they are simply there.
AMC brings its own back catalogue weight to the deal, and BBC America gives the line-up a British lean it did not have on the cheaper packages. For a mid-tier subscriber, the guide got noticeably fuller overnight without anyone asking.
How the YouTube TV channels boost stacks up against rivals
The read on this is competitive. Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and DirecTV Stream are all fighting for the same cord-cutting wallet, and stuffing value into the cheaper tiers is a cleaner move than trimming the price of the top one.
Sports is the sharper end of that fight. Live rights are what keep subscribers from cancelling in the off-season, and handing the full ESPN stack to the base plan makes walking away that much harder to justify.
What YouTube TV subscribers should look out for
There is nothing to do on the subscriber side. Both sets of channels appear in the guide automatically for anyone on a qualifying plan, and the sports content sits in the same app rather than behind a separate sign-in.
The question now is whether the price holds. Two expansions inside a week without a rate change is a pattern, not a promise, and the next annual pricing notice will show whether the value push was a land-grab or the new normal.
